Gifts

My students give me small gifts and tokens, mostly they like to share their snacks with me. Since I got back from Canada a couple weeks ago they have been bringing me crafts, pictures that they drew at school and origami (I’m not sure what some of them are supposed to be).

Some of my students have little to no English so I like to not make the assumption that everything they show me is for me. I will compliment them on what they show me, try to make them tell me about it in English. Generally, by the time this interaction is complete, they will either put it back in their bag or place it safely on one of my shelves or, if it is for me, literally push it at my face.

This is one of my recent favourites.
