Shifen Waterfall

Still part of our epic taxi tour!

Not to be ungrateful as it is quaint and beautiful but there were several minutes when we thought this was the waterfall. I’m so glad that my dissatisfaction and curiosity led me to wander down some railroad tracks (mom, you never read that, okay). Keep in mind that we had to do some of our own discovery at each site as our guide couldn’t fully convey what we were there to see.

The tracks led past clusters of bamboo and I even spotted some delicious guavas growing in the thick.

After a short hike down the tracks we came upon an entrance to an additional park (also we could hear a much bigger fall close by). There was a nominal fee to get in (maybe a couple USD), I don’t remember how much.
