The plan

In looking into markets and places to see, we’d come across Jiufen which is on the East coast. We woke up early to take the subway (MRT) to Taipei Main Station and, from there, catch a train to Ruifang. At Ruifang station there is a taxi queue with a set menu of tours that you can take. This is probably to prevent squabbles with each other and bargaining with the customers.

When we got to Ruifang the prices and menu had changed a little from what we had found online but it was still close enough. We’d decided we wanted the package with the most!
